About Dana Rice
Dana Rice is the owner of Dana Rice Music’s FAME Studio and the founder of Big Dreams Concert. Although she holds a BS in Chemistry from Jackson State University her roots in the arts run much deeper. She comes from all day Saturday rehearsals for Spoken Word Choir productions, church plays, community fashion shows, and staying late to make sure everything goes great.
Dana comes from watching her mama perform medleys of Langston Hughes poems, Nikki Giovanni poems, Margaret Walker Alexander poems like "For My People" and original poems that her mother had written herself in the in-between moments of cultivating actors and actresses in the Department of Speech and Dramatic Arts at Jackson State University.
Experiencing "the show before the show" as her Mama practiced in the bedroom mirror in the little 2 bedroom house the two of them rented on a street called Prosperity was Dana’s everyday existence. There was no one to play with since she was an only child during those days so the mirror became her play stage as she did what she saw her Mama doing. She'd fling her little arms the way her Mama would fling hers while telling stories of "When Malindy Sings" and how "life ain't been no crystal stair".
It is this legacy of excellence upon which the vision for
Dana Rice Music’s FAME Studio rests.

What Does The "FAME" in
Dana Rice Music's FAME Studio Stand For?
Faith Artistically and Musically Expressed
One of the most important lessons I try to teach my students is that success or fame is a natural byproduct of developing and utilizing your skills to the highest level and sharing them with the world.
For this reason, we never make fame our goal, instead we prepare ourselves for the day that fame will come while we focus on the BIG things. What are some of the BIG things? Excellence, purpose, living with compassion and integrity and making a positive difference in the world.
